Prevent Sexual Violence
The first and perhaps most important step to prevent SV is AWARENESS! It’s important to educate yourself and others, especially children, on how to protect themselves by learning about personal safety and appropriate boundaries.
The second most important thing to understand about SV is that no one can or should try to resolve the issue alone. Even if you are the victim or not, it is important to depend on others (e.g., family members, friends, child care providers, and teachers) and ask for help in order to keep yourself and others safe.
The Circle of Six is a great phone APP. It was developed for college students to provide an extra line of defense against violence, sexual assault, potential unsafe conditions or any other uncomfortable situations. Audrie & Daisy
The Netflix documentary Audrie & Daisy follows the stories of two teens as they are targeted on social media after the sexual assault crimes against them have gone viral. The film and the Audrie and Daisy website serve as a spark to ignite discussions, address hard to talk about subjects and brings awareness with the hope that we can one day end sexual assault and violence in our communities. The Audrie & Daisy website provides many resources and tools for individuals to take action.
Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month
TDVAM online hub for all national activities and promotion of Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month in February, as well as the home of Break the Cycle and loveisrespect's annual public awareness campaign for TDVAM. The website offers resources for youth, adults and communities that want to plan awareness-raising activities in February.

Girl Fest Hawaii
Girl Fest's mission is to prevent violence against women and girls through education and art. Currently, we are Hawaii’s longest-running all-volunteer anti-violence multimedia festival. Girl Fest incorporates music, film, art, dance and spoken word to get its message out to the public.
Joyful Heart Foundation
The Joyful Heart Foundation represents the collective thought and care of many writers, advocates, photographers and survivors sharing their wisdom and creativity about sexual assault prevention. Start Strong: Building Healthy Teen Relationships
The Start Strong website is geared toward educators, mentors, or parents with the will to make a difference in their schools or communities and help start middle schoolers on the road to healthy relationships.
Start Strong is a national program to promote healthy relationships among 11- to 14-year-olds and identify promising ways to prevent teen dating violence. The core components of this program are to i) educate and engage youth in schools and out of school settings; ii) educate and engage teen influencers such as parents/caregivers, older teens, teachers and other mentors; iii) change policy and environmental factors; and iv) implement effective communications/social marketing strategies.
Girls Inc.
Through Girls Inc. Project BOLD® , girls learn skills and strategies to lead safer lives in their homes, in relationships, in their communities, and online. Girls learn specific self-defense techniques and how to seek out and talk to caring adults about personal and gender-based violence. Older girls also take on a community action project to advocate for a safer world for all women and girls.

Women’s Funding Network
The Women’s Funding Network is global network and a movement for social justice for women. In their website they also provide the tools to take action to prevent and end domestic minor sex trafficking in the U.S.
