We hear you, staying at home is not easy! However, it’s your responsibility to keep yourself, family, friends, and community safe from COVID-19. Even though we’re all at home, it’s important to continue to stay active, eat healthy, sleep well, and have a positive mindset. Taking the time to care for yourself physically and emotionally can boost your immune system so that your body can be prepared to tackle the virus and keep you safe! There are many ways you can maintain a healthy lifestyle at home, here are some resources for ideas on how to care for your physical and emotional health!

Get your body moving

Yoga

Yoga is a great way to stay active and relax the mind. Check out this video made by UH medical students on staying active at home and Open Space Yoga’s YouTube channel for free yoga videos to follow along to from home!

Home workouts

Find at-home workouts to get you up and moving! Maybe you’re not into planks and sit-ups, that’s fine! Put on the dance workout below and dance like no one’s watching! Visit our Exercise page to learn more about why staying active is important and get more workout ideas.

Eat healthy

Are you a quarantine snacker? When we spend the entire day at home, it’s easy to eat our way through all the snacks in the pantry especially if we feel bored. Eating and snacking are okay! Stay active and be mindful of what you’re eating by choosing healthier options. Check out our Nutrition & Healthy Eating page for more information on eating healthy and more delicious healthy recipes for you to try!

Find peace and calm your mind

Mindfulness

Practicing mindfulness allows us to pause, clear our minds, and focus on our breath. Immediately after a moment of mindful breathing you’ll feel relaxed and refreshed. Learn more about mindfulness through the video below and the Mindfulness for Teens website that also has guided meditations to help you start practicing. Explore our Self-Care page to learn more about mindfulness and the importance of taking time for yourself.
